The release of new regulations for power banks

The Civil Aviation Administration of China has rolled out a new regulation: starting from June 28, 2025, power banks without a 3C mark, with an indistinct 3C mark, or belonging to recalled models/batches are prohibited from being taken on domestic flights. (3C certification, also known as "China Compulsory Certification", has been applicable to power banks since August 1, 2023; and as of August 1, 2024, uncertified ones have been forbidden from leaving the factory for sale.)
Safety is of paramount importance. Promptly eliminating potential risks and tightening the public safety net serve as the starting point for recalling problematic power banks and also the goal of stricter oversight—this is both necessary and beyond doubt. Nevertheless, the losses and inconveniences caused to consumers by such safety incidents must be taken seriously by all parties. Though small in size, power banks are indispensable accessories in the digital age, boasting a massive user base.
The key to solving the problem lies in giving equal priority to both safety and consumer rights protection. Safety is the bottom line for an enterprise's survival, while users are the cornerstone of its development. Only by providing safe and reliable products along with convenient and guaranteed services can enterprises build public trust while strengthening safety measures.
